Scooter McGavin on Facebook and MySpace
This week I uploaded all of my pictures from my set visit to Veronica Mars, some that were never uploaded here, to my Facebook and MySpace accounts, so if you want to see them you will have to befriend me.

PCH Hangout

I'm not entirely sure if I have shared this story yet, but the PCH hangout, first seen during the White Castle episode, is actually on the lot that Veronica Mars films on. If you look above Thumper's hea, that is the same place as the picture below. In fact if you look closely when they are filming in the lunch area, you may even be albe to see the structure below.

Some decent episodes are airing tonight with the Winter Carnaval with the great scene with Veronica going "Tah-Da" after getting the one dude to confess. The second one is noteworthy just because the chick from Laguna Beach shows up as a lesbian, which ranks very high on the unintentional comedy scale.

Mars Apartment 4

Unfortunately, Veronica Mars wasn't on the other side of the door, but here is the entrance to the Mars apartment. On the other side, basically nothing but a backdrop with a horizon painted on it. Also don't forget to turn in tonight with one of the best episodes of this last season, with the great titled, Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner.

Keith's Bedroom 3

Last week I showed a close up look at Keith's movie collection, here is a zoomed out view of the shelves that those movies were on. Notice all the trophies Keith has amassed despite being on a not so good softball team. Hopefully I can get another visit to the set of Veronica Mars so I can get a better look at them to see what he won them for. It's also interesting that he could have a school bus bookend on the shelf below the trophies.

Keith's Movie Collection
Unfortunately this was one of the pictures I took unknowingly I had switched to a lower resolution, so it's hard to make out the movie titles, but if my memory is correct, I believe they were mostly monster movies, although no House of Wax because the Hilton girl gives the Mars family nightmares. But I'm pretty sure the picture on the upper shelf is that of Kristen Bell.

Deputy Sacks vs Osama bin Laden

One story that I been holding off for a while, is this one involving the picture above. I was one of the people while on the set of Veronica Mars who was looking at every small detail looking for hidden things and none bigger than what I found on Deputy Sacks desk. If you look at the name on the top folder, it is Osama bin Laden (much apologies for my not so reliable camera if you are unable to read it). I actually asked creator Rob Thomas about this but unfortunately I didn’t have my recorder with me at the time because they said we could leave our stuff in Java the Hutt while we went to some other sets, but then Rob showed up while we were at the Neptune Police Station and I asked him about it around that time, so this will be paraphrased.
So while walking to the next set, which I believe was the Mars Apartment, I asked Rob, “I noticed that Sacks has a file on Osama bin Laden on his desk. Is he going to hunt him down in Iraq later this season much Arrested Development went there this past season to get Saddam Hussein?” This got a laugh out of Rob then he went on to talk about how the kids were going to guest on an upcoming episode and about Veronica Mars being bleeped out by Fox during the Arrested Development finale. For those who have read much of my talks with Rob, he tends to laugh at my questions, and then avoids them by changing the subject.
I wouldn’t have given a second thought to Rob avoiding the Iraq question, that is until, on our way between sound stages, we passed this, a whole area that looked like urban Iraq Theater of war with Arabic signs and all.

Now my mind raced with speculations that I was right about Sacks going to Iraq when Rob said the second season finale would span continents. Although now that the finale has come and gone, we know that the Middle East wasn’t one of those places. But maybe I ran across something for season three? Just remember you heard it here first when Sacks comes back with the head of Osama bin Laden.

Neptune Police Station 1

It's got to be nice living in Southern California where you can have a company picnic in the middle of February. Granted Lamb must be a little lazy at updating this board considering it was the end of February during my set visit to Veronica Mars not to mention it was around April when the episode aired.

Keith's Bedroom

We rarely get a look inside of Keith's bedroom on Veronica Mars, but here's a picture from my set visit. You gotta love anyone who still rocks the old school typerwriter. And I'm not positive, but I think that's actually Kristen Bell's picture.

Neptune Police Station 5

A look at the current at what the Neptune police department were working on back during my set visit to Veronica Mars. It looks like this perp was just set dressing as the guy depicted on the board never made it on screen. Too bad they didn't have something blatent like having the perp name being Cassidy.

Neptune Police Station 4

Keeping with the Neptune Police Station I started yesterday, here is the back wall of the station chalk filled with evil does. Granted I have a feeling Keith and Veronica Mars have found more of these people than sheriff Lamb and his boys. As always, click for a closer look.

Neptune Police Station 3

Here's a picture of Neptune's very own sheriff, Don Lamb. Apparently we caught him on the one day he was out catching bad guys, or more likely setting up the wrongfully accused. But hey, they are one in the same for Neptune's finest.

Scooter McGavin's New Job

On my visit to the set of Veronica Mars, they actually let me play with the marker (which I believe is the technical term, I call it the Pac-Man chomper thingie). If you enlarge the picture, you can see I was there for episode 18 which was I Am God or Veronica see dead people. What you can't see thanks to the weird thing that seems to be covering my head (I really need to get a better camera) are the headphones that I seemed to monopolized for most of the visit. Oh, and just to let you know, just out of frame over my left shoulder is Veronica and Evil Beaver.

Neptune High School Classroom

Okay, so the light were not on in the classroom while I was on the set of Veronica Mars, but I went ahead and took a picture anyways. I believe this class was set up for English, but most likely was used for one of the study halls that were used near the end of the season. It is a little easier to see things if you click on the picture to enlarge.

Lilly Kane Memorial 2

Like I teased Friday, there is an interesting story behind the Lilly Kane Memorial. If you look at the poem engraved, it's heart warming right? Well it was actually taken from an unaired episode of Freaks and Geeks and written in honored for one of the character's dead dog. For a closer look, click the picture to enlarge.

Lilly Kane Memorial

With the upcoming holiday, it only seems appropriate to post a picture of Neptune High School's own memorial, that was dedicated to Lilly Kane during season one of Veronica Mars. But don't forget to pour some out for the real people who sacrificed their life for the country sometime this extended weekend too. Then check back Tuesday when I resume posting with a another shot of the memorial along with a story behind it.

A place that Veronica Mars knows very well, Sheriff Lamb's office. Unfortunately it looks like Lamb was off at the Neptune Grand with Madison Sinclair when I was at the set.

Dick Must Be Involved

Another good story while on the set of Veronica Mars was our quick pit stop at the prop depatment. The first thing of note, and sadly I didn't get a picture of, was the sign for the defunt Fox show, Point Pleasant. Then there was this. At first Rob Thomas could remember where the fake deer were from but then recalled, but didn't tell us which promted me to say "Why do I think Dick is involved?" That got a laugh out of Rob, and I even named the picture as such, but as seen last night, Dick was in no way involved. Oh well.

Mars Investigation 5

Ever wonder what Kristen Bell does in between takes when she is at Veronica's desk at Mars Investigation? Well here's your answer, and apperently, the office is slightly behind the times as this picture was taken in late Feb. 2006.
