Well how it usually goes down on reality show, my most favorite goes down early and in the case of America's Next Top Model favorite basically means hottest. Here's the press release from last week's episode, that finally was shown here as it was orginally pre-empted by the Cavs game orginally, followed by that last glimpse of the fallen Kari, pictures courtesy of UPN:
KARI ELIMINATED FROM UPN'S "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL"
Kari, a student from Brookings, S.D., became the third girl eliminated from the sixth cycle of UPN's hit series AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, reducing the pool from 11 girls to 10.
J. Alexander met the girls for their first runway lesson and critiqued each on their poise and strut down the catwalk. Though many girls were unsure of their skills on the runway, Kari seemed especially nervous to hear J.'s criticism of her effort. Once the initial assessments were given, the stakes were raised as each had to use the skills they had learned to sashay down the runway in an evening gown. Kari repeatedly stumbled causing her to lose focus and intensity. "She doesn't really know how to give you the attitude that is really needed," J. said after the lesson.
Back at the girls' Hollywood mansion, Kari's confidence continued to crumble as the reality of the difficult competition, paired with a case of homesickness, began to set in.
The next day, the girls were greeted by J. Alexander and legendary fashion designer Jared Gold for a challenge that would test their ability to handle outrageous twists within the fashion industry. Wearing Gold's beautiful spring collection, the girls had to walk the runway while donning a live Madagascar hissing cockroach. Gold seemed impressed by Jade's confident approach to the shocking challenge, but felt that Kari's walk was too slow and her enthusiasm on the runway fell flat.
Jay Manuel then met the girls for their weekly photo shoot where each had to depict a modern day fairytale character falling in mid-air. Kari, who portrayed Goldilocks, continued to have difficulty changing her look and expression throughout the shoot.
During the week's elimination ceremony, the judges once again challenged the girls to walk the runway, this time in incredibly high heeled shoes that tested their focus and balance. As she faced the judges for her critique, Kari's emotions continued to rise as she felt her performance didn't reflect her best effort. In the end, the judges agreed that although her previous photos had been fierce, Kari's effort on the runway just didn't measure up. "A girl like you that is not necessarily super tall or has a model proportion has to be almost perfect and you nearly fell off this runway," Tyra said just before eliminating Kari from the competition.
The winner of UPN's AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL will have the opportunity to be managed by Ford Models. She will also receive a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl. The winner will additionally appear in a fashion spread in Elle magazine and on the cover of ELLEgirl Magazine.
The fifth installment of UPN's hit dramality series AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL follows 13 young women as they attempt to prove they have what it takes to make it in the high-stress, high-stakes world of modeling. Banks, who created the show, also serves as executive producer along with Ken Mok ("Making the Band") and Anthony Dominici ("The Amazing Race"). AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL airs Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN. For more information about AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL log on to http://www.upn.com/.
A little break from my usual photos from my visit to the set of Veronica Mars with something fans of the show should get a kick out of from last weekend's NCAA Tournament with a cheerleader from Wichita State. Oh and the nickname of the school: The Shockers. Classic, Dick would be so proud. And if you don't know what that hand gesture means, you're better off not knowing.
If you were ever sent to Principal Clemmons office, here is where you'd be waiting. And just a note for those who visit my sister site, the 9th Green, the usual Thursday Toss Up between Lost and Veronica Mars will be postponed due to my local UPN station showing the Cavs vs. the Bobcats game. Seriously, the Bobcats, it’s not like they are playing the Pistons or Kobe. But anyways. I’ll have my Toss Up as soon as I see the new Veronica Mars which will be no later than Sunday.
Ever wonder what is on Logan's reading list, well oddly it's a photography magazine. Although that may just be a cover for what look's to a Maxim underneath. Unfortunately I didn't think to check to see if it was the Kristen Bell issue.
Do you have pirate pride? This little mural was hiding out in the courtyard and thought you the viewer should have a closer look.
I really wasn’t planning to write anything today because with a name like McGavin, St. Patrick’s Day is basically a national holiday, add to that it coincides with the NCAA tournaments makes it a double whammy. Not to mention my boys over at Kent State play tonight. But I just had to share something.
My birthday is coming up in the near future so it’s about that time I start receiving birthday cards and I got one that looked very much like one except it was post-marked from San Diego. Now my mother has a cousin who lives in the city but he has never sent me anything before and I’ve only met the guy about three times in my life. So I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up and this was written inside the card:
Okay, this was uber-cool and totally unexpected. That the star and namesake would take time out of television show to write a thank you letter apologizing that she couldn’t spend more time with us, even though it wasn’t her fault and was summoned away by the director, just makes me (heart) her even more. Now if only her character would hook up with Dick, that would rule.
And one more thing, GO Golden Flashes! Um, nevermind that last part.
Okay, my last two exclusive pictures of Kristin Cavallari on the set of Veronica Mars courtesy of UPN/Warner Bros. For my complete write up of her episode, check out the post on my sister site, Toss Up: Lost vs Veronica Mars week 10 3/4. Tomorrow I'll be back with my low-fi pictures from my set visit.
In honor of tonight's first of nine straight new episodes of Veronica Mars, a couple more pictures of guest star Kristin Cavallari of Laguna Beach fame. These pictures are courtasy of UPN/Warner Bros and are used by permission. Also don't miss my discussion with creator Rob Thomas about The Mystery That Is Shelly Pomroy over at the 9th Green.
Today I'm going to take a break from my own pictures and post an offical photo courtesy UPN/Warner Bros (which means don't steal them for your own personal use) featuring tomorrow's guest star Kristin Cavallari of Laguna Beachfrom an all new episode of Veronica Mars. And since I'm feeling nice today, here's another one courtesy of UPN/Warner Bros:
Anyone want to take a closer look inside Veronica's room? Just click on the picture for a larger view.
My contact at UPN that hooks me up with all my exclusive Veronica Mars content also works with America's Next Top Model and even though I'm on the fence on where I will watch this season (they should have picked Dani for the final 13) I thought I'd pass along the press release for this week's episode and don't forget to stick around to see an all new Veronica Mars:

I've decided that I am going to take the weekend off from posting pictures here on this blog, but from time to time I will post other things I don't have time to post at the 9th Green like today I thought I would post the official press release from UPN for this week's all new Veronica Mars.
NEPTUNE HIGH'S CLOSETED GAY TEENS TURN TO VERONICA FOR HELP WHEN A BLACKMAILER THREATENS TO OUT THEM, ON "VERONICA MARS," WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15 ON UPN
UPN'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED Co-Host Kristin Cavallari ("Laguna Beach") Guest Stars as Veronica's Closeted Classmate Kylie, Jeffrey Sams ("Soul Food") Guest Stars as Baseball Legend Terrence Cook, and Tina Majorino ("Napoleon Dynamite") Returns as Mac
"Versatile Toppings" -- Neptune High's closeted gay teens, including cheerleader Kylie (guest star Kristin Cavallari), turn to Veronica for help when a blackmailer cracks into a private online bulletin board and threatens to publicly out everyone associated with the site unless they pay $5,000 apiece, on VERONICA MARS, Wednesday, March 15 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN. Sarah Pia Anderson directed the episode from a script written by Phil Klemmer. Tina Majorino guest stars as Mac.
Meanwhile, Keith continues to work on a case for Jackie's dad Terrance Cook (guest star Jeffery Sams), while looking into bus crash leads. Later, Logan romantically pursues sophomore Hannah, much to her father's distress.
For those that wonder if the "Jackie is a..." grafitti was still around, it was by the time I made my visit to the Veronica Mars set, here's the proof.
For those who think that Veronica has given up on her mother after she took off with basically was her college fund, can look back to the episode where Veronica mistakes the signed word fiend for friend, or you can take a look at this picture that is still in her bedroom.
My first of many pictures from the set of Veronica Mars is the iconic crest seen in the entrance of the High School and if you ook closer (click on the picture to enlarge) you can see the infamous conch shell from the episode about the secret Triton society.
After taking a bunch of pictures while visiting the set of Veronica Mars, I thought I would put them to good use and start up a picture blog to post them daily, or close to it. So look out for the first picture tomorrow and be sure to check out my regular blog Scooter McGavin's 9th Green.
