Donut Run Redux

True Love Stories Never Have Endings

With everything going on in the episode, Donut Run was all about this closing image. I talked to Rob Thomas about the infamous numbers and he said that they had no bad luck on Veronica Mars. But I'm a little suspicious that Duncan ended up in Australia, the place where the Lost flight left.

The Line-Up

Again with everything going on in this episode, I totally forgot this line-up that may have been the funniest thing aside from Dick consoling Ronnie by telling her what Kendall would do to Duncan what she wouldn't. I (Heart) Dick.

Zena the Warrior Princess

This episode was also special to me because it was the first one to air after starting my partnership with UPN and even got exclusive pictures including that of guest star Lucy Lawless who was great in crushing sheriff Lamb.

Veronica and Duncan

And here was the big shocker for me this season, when Veronica ended up going next door to show us she was in cahoots with Duncan the whole time. Take that Logan fans.

Bye Duncan

And here we have the last shot of Duncan, at least on American soil. Cue up It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.

One Angry Veronica Redux

Sorry for taking a while to update as it's been a long week and hopefully everyone will checking out the Scooter Television Award for Best Episode Donut Run tonight at an early 8:00 start time. As for last week, here are some thoughts after a second look, even though One Angry Veronica was more of a stand alone episode with no Beaver and it also spent time going back to the season one episode.

Thumper and Veronica

I was a little disappointed with this scene as I remember this was the first time remembering Thumper and I was hoping for a little forshadowing in this scene.

RIP Meg

This picture was significant because it was the last time we saw Meg alive. Cue up It's so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.

Is that Keith?

I swear that is Keith far right in the left picture. Click it to take a closer look.

Shirtless Lamb

And for all the ladies out there, shirtless Lamb. Hopefully next season they give us what all the guys want to see, a pillow fight between Ronnie and Angie Dahl with Dick as the referee. The would rule.

My Mother, the Fiend Redux

Evil Beaver and Mac

Evil Beaver made his return last night setting up the phoenix Land Trust which could possibly be very important to season three depending on what is in Not-Kendall's briefcase. Also here was the start of the Evil Beaver/Mac courtship.

A Buffy reunion

But the best part of this episode was when Road Hard met Put Away Wet. Sadly they never got in the same frame at the same time.

Lianne's suspention letter

Here's a better look at Lianne's suspended letter.

Principal Clemmons

It's really hard to believe that Vice Principal Clemmons didn't know what would be the outcome when he sentenced Veronica to detention and Van having this already made almost confirms it.

Librarian Veronica

Last week I mention my disturbing attraction to Bad Veronica but Librarian Veronica might be right up there too in the uber-hot category.

I Love a Rainy Night 2

My Backyard 2

Here's another look at the result of the bad rain from a couple weeks ago I talked about in the last post.

On the Veronica Mars front, UPN are showing two episodes tonight. It's nice that they will get in the whole season this summer unlike last summer when they had to cut a couple episodes out because of time restraints, but I really can't argue with not wanting to reshow the Paris Hilton episode.

The first episode is the one with Vice Principal Clemmons Makivellian turn, the second was one a the few stand alone episode with Veronica on jury duty. But I do recall Thumper making a cameo so it should be instesting to see that again knowing what we know now about him.

I Love a Rainy Night

A river in my backyard

I thought I take a rare diversion from my usual pictures of my visit to the set of Veronica Mars and show a more personal picture. A couple weeks ago, we had a rain here so bad, a river showed up in my backyard. Now I'm in a fairly high area, so this was a pretty creepy sight and this first time I ever witnessed a thing like this. Even today, the back corner by the tree is still a little soggy.

2006 Emmy Nominations

I spent too much time on my Emmys post over at the 9th Green, so why don't you head over there tro check that out because I don't have time to throw something together for this site. Unfortunately there is no Veronica Mars anywhere, but check it out anyways.

Ahoy Mateys! Redux

No Beaver last night (and sadly, no Dick either) but there was plenty of forshadowing last night with Marcos and his secret on the fence antics. Granted knowing now what I knew then, it's a little creepy that Mayor Goodwood could turn all the boys if not a little gay with the fully gay Peter and the can't get it up with conscience girls Beaver. Well here are a couple of my favorite screen shots from last night's episode:

Evil Veronica

Since the end of the season, I've talked a lot about Evil Beaver, but I totally forgot about Evil Veronica. Oddly, much like Evil Lana on Smallville, I find Evil Veronica somewhat more attractive than her real counterpart.

Emmy Nod

Hopefully with the Emmy nominations tomorrow, they saw this scene, because this one, along with numerous other scenes, should warrant Kristen Bell a nod.

Shocker

Maybe not an Emmy worthy scene, but the look these too gave when Clemmons opened his door in a bathrobe was priceless. One of my favorite scenes from last season. Could have only been improved had Dick been walking by and said "shocker" when he opened the door.

Veronica Mars at Comic Con

Just so great new for those living in Southern California or those already planning to go to Comic Con; cast and crew of Veronica Mars will be Q&A panel there on Saturday July 22nd from 4:30 to 5:30. Creator Rob Thomas and stars Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, Francis Capra, Ryan Hansen, and Michael Muhney are all scheduled to appear. The panel will be moderated by some dude from TVGuide.com. So check out the Comic Con website if you are interested in attending.

Unfortunately on account that I'm dirt poor, it doesn't look like I will be able to attend unless there is a viewer with more money than they know what to do with wants to send me there. Hey, if you send me there, that means more pictures for this site. Warren Buffet, where are you?

Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner Redux

Evil Beaver at Mayor Goodwood's, this can't be good

Last night was the repeat of the babysitting episode and the most interesting cap from last night was how happy Evil Beaver looked by crashing Mayor Goodwood's house. Maybe it had a little something to do with the liquid, the courage, the liquid courage in Dick's hand.

Ronnie's picture

But there were a couple other interesting scenes last night that I wonder will be dealt with later. First there was the above drawing and I wonder if we will be seeing the J offering, babysitter hitting on dad in one of the three arc for season three.

So what's up with Lamb's dad

Another scene that always peaks my interest was the ending scene with Sheriff Lamb where he said something to the effect of "Funny, my dad said the exact same thing" when Mr. Manning said he was the victim . I wrote after that episode aired that this was when Lamb got interesting. Unfortunately, that was never brought up again and only briefly mentioned when Lamb said he should have never let Ronnie and Duncan go after Duncan took off with his baby.

Oh, yeah, and Lamb's squeeze, Madison Sinclair showed up in a bikini (her "My Dick" line here is one of the funniest in the shows' run). Although I never realized she was all tatted up, that kind of a turn off for me. Plus another classic Dick shirt.

Wait, Madison has a tatoo?
Dick's going commando again

Mars Apartment 4

Mars apartment entrance

Unfortunately, Veronica Mars wasn't on the other side of the door, but here is the entrance to the Mars apartment. On the other side, basically nothing but a backdrop with a horizon painted on it. Also don't forget to turn in tonight with one of the best episodes of this last season, with the great titled, Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner.

Keith's Bedroom 3

Keith Mars Bedroom

Last week I showed a close up look at Keith's movie collection, here is a zoomed out view of the shelves that those movies were on. Notice all the trophies Keith has amassed despite being on a not so good softball team. Hopefully I can get another visit to the set of Veronica Mars so I can get a better look at them to see what he won them for. It's also interesting that he could have a school bus bookend on the shelf below the trophies.

Dick Casablancas Is Pretty Fly for a White Guy

A couple weeks ago I shared a Dick Casabancas music video and I recently came across another one and since I (heart) Dick I just had to share it with you. So click play and enjoy Dick, who I have to say, is indeed Pretty Fly for a White Guy.

Keith's Movie Collection

Keith Mars movie collection

Unfortunately this was one of the pictures I took unknowingly I had switched to a lower resolution, so it's hard to make out the movie titles, but if my memory is correct, I believe they were mostly monster movies, although no House of Wax because the Hilton girl gives the Mars family nightmares. But I'm pretty sure the picture on the upper shelf is that of Kristen Bell.

Rat Saw God

Veronica Mars Rat

Beaver was MIA again on last night's repeat of Veronica Mars so no forshadowing his evilness. But one thing I remember watching again and again during the first time around trying to figure out exactly what was taped to the bottom of the seat. I came to the conclusion that it was the remains of the bomb, but we all know now that it was in fact a rat. Of course in hindsight that seems obvious because the title of the episode was Rat Saw God.

Deputy Sacks vs Osama bin Laden

Osama bin Laden

One story that I been holding off for a while, is this one involving the picture above. I was one of the people while on the set of Veronica Mars who was looking at every small detail looking for hidden things and none bigger than what I found on Deputy Sacks desk. If you look at the name on the top folder, it is Osama bin Laden (much apologies for my not so reliable camera if you are unable to read it). I actually asked creator Rob Thomas about this but unfortunately I didn’t have my recorder with me at the time because they said we could leave our stuff in Java the Hutt while we went to some other sets, but then Rob showed up while we were at the Neptune Police Station and I asked him about it around that time, so this will be paraphrased.

So while walking to the next set, which I believe was the Mars Apartment, I asked Rob, “I noticed that Sacks has a file on Osama bin Laden on his desk. Is he going to hunt him down in Iraq later this season much Arrested Development went there this past season to get Saddam Hussein?” This got a laugh out of Rob then he went on to talk about how the kids were going to guest on an upcoming episode and about Veronica Mars being bleeped out by Fox during the Arrested Development finale. For those who have read much of my talks with Rob, he tends to laugh at my questions, and then avoids them by changing the subject.

I wouldn’t have given a second thought to Rob avoiding the Iraq question, that is until, on our way between sound stages, we passed this, a whole area that looked like urban Iraq Theater of war with Arabic signs and all.

Iraq in Neptune 1

Iraq in Neptune 2

Now my mind raced with speculations that I was right about Sacks going to Iraq when Rob said the second season finale would span continents. Although now that the finale has come and gone, we know that the Middle East wasn’t one of those places. But maybe I ran across something for season three? Just remember you heard it here first when Sacks comes back with the head of Osama bin Laden.

Neptune Police Station 1

Neptune Police Station 1

It's got to be nice living in Southern California where you can have a company picnic in the middle of February. Granted Lamb must be a little lazy at updating this board considering it was the end of February during my set visit to Veronica Mars not to mention it was around April when the episode aired.

Cupid

Cupid on Veronica Mars

Nothing really interesting this week on Veronica Mars in terms of foreshadowing, but one thing I did notice this time around was a certain show Jackie plans on watching a certain show called Cupid (click for a better view). For those not in the know, Cupid was another show Rob Thomas created starring Jeremy Piven, now of Entourage, and Paula Marshall who has shown up occasionally as Veronica's guidance counselor. And for those less in the know and are thinking the dude from Matchbox Twenty, check out No, Not That Rob Thomas.

Keith's Bedroom

Keith's Bedroom

We rarely get a look inside of Keith's bedroom on Veronica Mars, but here's a picture from my set visit. You gotta love anyone who still rocks the old school typerwriter. And I'm not positive, but I think that's actually Kristen Bell's picture.

Monday, June 12, 2006

Neptune Police Station 5

Neptune Police Station

A look at the current at what the Neptune police department were working on back during my set visit to Veronica Mars. It looks like this perp was just set dressing as the guy depicted on the board never made it on screen. Too bad they didn't have something blatent like having the perp name being Cassidy.

Neptune Police Station 4

Neptune Police Station

Keeping with the Neptune Police Station I started yesterday, here is the back wall of the station chalk filled with evil does. Granted I have a feeling Keith and Veronica Mars have found more of these people than sheriff Lamb and his boys. As always, click for a closer look.

Thursday, June 08, 2006

Neptune Police Station 3

The Office of Sheriff Don Lamb

Here's a picture of Neptune's very own sheriff, Don Lamb. Apparently we caught him on the one day he was out catching bad guys, or more likely setting up the wrongfully accused. But hey, they are one in the same for Neptune's finest.

Grace Manning

Grace Manning

Much like the other repeats this season, I found some major hint in last night's episode of Veronica Mars. Even though Beaver was MIA, I didn't realized how horrified Grace Manning looked in this episode, a few weeks before we saw her trapped in the closet. Although this was long after R. Kelly made stylish.

Dick Rules

Long time readers here and at the 9th Green know how I (Heart) Dick, but it's fellow Veronica Mars Press Day Blogger silkgrl (see sidebar for her link) that created a video for the lone Casablancas left in Neptune (well asides from Not-Kendall). Click play to check it out:

Scooter McGavin's New Job

Scooter McGavin

On my visit to the set of Veronica Mars, they actually let me play with the marker (which I believe is the technical term, I call it the Pac-Man chomper thingie). If you enlarge the picture, you can see I was there for episode 18 which was I Am God or Veronica see dead people. What you can't see thanks to the weird thing that seems to be covering my head (I really need to get a better camera) are the headphones that I seemed to monopolized for most of the visit. Oh, and just to let you know, just out of frame over my left shoulder is Veronica and Evil Beaver.

Veronica Mars/Everwood News

TVFan over at Pass the Remote has some more interesting Veronica Mars news that I'm again too lazy to copy and paste it here so stop by there to read it especially if you are an Everwood fan because it also involves that show too. You will have to scroll down past the Cold Case part to read though. I'll be back here on Monday with more pictures from the set of Veronica Mars and hopefully the next one will be better lit than yesterdays.

Neptune High School Classroom

Neptune High School Classroom

Okay, so the light were not on in the classroom while I was on the set of Veronica Mars, but I went ahead and took a picture anyways. I believe this class was set up for English, but most likely was used for one of the study halls that were used near the end of the season. It is a little easier to see things if you click on the picture to enlarge.

Veronica Mars News

There's some cool Veronica Mars news that I'd like to share in lue of another of my on-set pictures. First the official season three trailer is up on the CW website, so click the link to see. Personally I think there's not enough Dick, but at least there's no Black Eyed Peas soundtrack.

Then over at
Pass the Remote, has a post on how to ensure a full season three pick up, so I advise you to check that out as I'm too lazy to even copy and pasted. So check out the link to see what you can do.

Lilly Kane Memorial 2

Lilly Kane Memorial

Like I teased Friday, there is an interesting story behind the Lilly Kane Memorial. If you look at the poem engraved, it's heart warming right? Well it was actually taken from an unaired episode of Freaks and Geeks and written in honored for one of the character's dead dog. For a closer look, click the picture to enlarge.

Lilly Kane Memorial

The Lilly Kane Memorial

With the upcoming holiday, it only seems appropriate to post a picture of Neptune High School's own memorial, that was dedicated to Lilly Kane during season one of Veronica Mars. But don't forget to pour some out for the real people who sacrificed their life for the country sometime this extended weekend too. Then check back Tuesday when I resume posting with a another shot of the memorial along with a story behind it.

Evil Beaver in Motion

I just showed you a still of Evil Beaver with arms crossed looking at the destruction he crossed, now here is a video of the post-crash site. Just a warning, you may want to turn off your speakers because the background music is a little annoying. And by a little I mean a lot.

America's Next Top Model Finale

America's Next Top Model ended last night and unfortunately my girl Joanie Dodds didn't win. I had a feeling since an all American Midwestern girl won the last cycle, they wouldn't have two in a row. Here are some pictures of her taken from the finale courtesy of UPN along with the press release:

Joanie from America's Next Top Model 1

Joanie from America's Next Top Model 2

Joanie from America's Next Top Model 3

DANIELLE EVANS IS AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL

Danielle Evans, a 20-year-old babysitter from Little Rock, Ark., was crowned AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL in the finale of the sixth cycle of UPN's hit dramality series. The three remaining girls participated in a national television commercial and photo shoot for CoverGirl’s Lash Exact Mascara. While all three girls struggled memorizing their lines, Jade had the most difficulty. Even after Jay Manuel brought out cue cards to help her, she still continued to miss her lines.

The next day, the finalists faced the judges for the 11th elimination of the competition. The judges felt that while all three girls looked beautiful in their photographs and on camera, Jade was repeatedly coming up with excuses for her lack of perfection in the photo shoots; thus eliminating her from the competition and leaving only two girls to compete for the crown.

The next day, Danielle and Joanie were met by Jay Manuel at the location for their final challenge, a runway show for top fashion designer Roj Singhakul with a lengthy, above water pathway connected by temples. During the show, Danielle impressed the judges with her powerful walk and improvised poses, while Joanie performed well but showed less stage presence.

During the final elimination, the judges considered the runway performances from the final runway challenge, as well as each girl's photos throughout the competition. While the judges agreed that Joanie had many versatile looks, they felt that Danielle had the “signature look” idealistic of a top model. “This has been such a long journey that will soon come to an end, but for one of you, it’s just the beginning,” Tyra said before announcing Danielle as AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.

Veronica Mars Picked Up

Things have been a little busy, so I haven't been able to put up new pictures the last couple days, but I thought I'd quickly drop a post as I have heard from reliable sources that creator Rob Thomas himself sent him an e-mail saying that Veronica Mars will be on the inaugural CW schedule. No official word yet, so hopefully someone didn't do any hacking into Rob's e-mail. So be sure to check out the entertainment sites on Thursday to see exactly what day and time the show will air.

As for the only other reality show worth watching, Survivor, I'll go with Danielle because I think the other castaways will, much like me, will be mesmorized by her breasts.
